Your Day at Gata Media
From check-in to the final photo, here is exactly how the five hours unfold.
-
Meet in Bajos del Toro
Arrive in Bajos del Toro, on the slopes of Poás Volcano. Check in with your guides and get fitted with your gear — harness, helmet and rappelling equipment.
-
Safety Briefing & Rappel Practice
Before the first drop, your certified guides walk through rappel technique, safety signals and what to do at each waterfall. Everyone practices the basics on land first.
-
Four Waterfall Rappels
Descend four waterfalls through the cloud forest, moving from one drop to the next as your guides set up the ropes at each stage.
-
Five Natural Waterslides
Between rappels, slide down five natural rock chutes carved by the river — no ropes needed, just the current and a good line.
-
Trail & Snack Break
Along the 4-kilometer route, pause on the trail for a snack — a chance to catch your breath and take in the cloud forest around you.
-
Finish & Photo Package
Complete the final stretch to the exit point. Your photo package captures the descent — no need to bring your own camera into the canyon.
