Safety and Equipment
Canyoning, hiking and whitewater rafting involve inherent outdoor risks. We will not tell you otherwise, and no operator can remove those risks. What an operator can do is manage them, and that is the job we take seriously.
Each activity follows its own equipment and participation requirements. Technical canyoning equipment — helmet, harness, descender and rope — is supplied and inspected before use. Rafting equipment is provided for the river experience. Hiking has its own terrain and physical requirements.
Every departure depends on the route, the river and the weather conditions on that day. A tour operates only when those conditions meet the criteria we set for that activity, and we cancel or modify a departure when they do not. That decision is ours, and we make it before you leave the meeting point.

Meet Jason Núñez
Founder and Certified Canyoning Guide
A merchant by trade and passionate about nature and adventure sports, he was born in Turrialba, Costa Rica, where he grew up surrounded by volcanoes, mountains and rivers that sparked his love of exploration and adventure from a very early age.
He is a certified canyoning guide with ICAN Mexico and ICAN World International, trained in first aid, CPR and cartography. In 2016 he founded Trekking & Canyoning Adventure CR, a project dedicated to safe, memorable experiences in the mountains and canyons.
Thanks to this passion, he has had the opportunity to practice canyoning and mountaineering not only in Costa Rica but also in countries such as France, Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, covering some of the most emblematic volcanoes and gorges in the world.
Beyond the destinations and the challenges, he considers his greatest achievement to be the friendships built, the experiences shared, and passing on his love of nature and adventure to every person he guides.
